Video of the Day: The Lore of ‘Hyper Light Drifter’

Recently when we asked our staff to vote on the best video games of the year (so far), one of the many indie gems that made the final cut was the beautifully crafted Hyper Light Drifter from Heart Machine studios.

The game in question is a heartfelt tribute to 16-bit gaming and features intense action, other-worldly environments, a captivating RPG-style storyline and some seriously ambitious storytelling.  Hyper Light Drifter meticulously crafts a post-apocalyptic samurai story amidst a beautiful, vast and ruined world riddled with unknown dangers and lost technologies. Inspired by nightmares and dreams alike. the top-down 2D action game received a very positive review from our very own Matt De Azevedo, who called it one of the best retro-inspired indie games to date, and one of the better overall indie games in recent memory. But what is it all about? This is the question many people are asking and so the popular YouTube show Lore In A Minute! has decided to take on the challenge of trying to explain it all. Enjoy!
