‘Final Fantasy VI Advance’ Trailer for the Wii U Virtual Console in Japan

Final Fantasy VI Advance Wii U

Final Fantasy VI, originally released on the Super NES, is now considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time, and the best in the Final Fantasy series. In mid-1994 Square’s publicity department reported that the game had sold 2.55 million copies in Japan and in the United States it became the year’s eighth best-selling SNES cartridge. Since, it has been re-released on Playstation, Gameboy Advance, the Wii Virtual Console, Steam and even for Android and iOS. With the recent arrival of Cloud in Super Smash Bros. and the upcoming release of Final Fantasy Explorers stateside, Nintendo and Square Enix seem to be reestablishing a solid and healthy working relationship once again. And now just today, the Game Boy Advance port of Final Fantasy VI Advance (which added some additional content to the classic RPG) has been released on the Wii U eShop in Japan. Whether the game will see a release in the West is still undetermined, but this seems like just the start of more things to come from Square Enix on Nintendo’s platforms. Watch the new trailer below and keep your fingers crossed we will have plenty more of the Final Fantasy series on the Wii U in 2016.
