Game Boys, Ep. 107: Going With ‘Pokémon Let’s Go’?

Published

on

Weeks ago, the Game Boys vowed not to talk about Pokémon until there was actual news and new games.  That’s exactly what happened this week with the announcement of Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee, the surprise launch of Pokémon Quest, and, perhaps best yet, the leak of a 1997 Pokémon Gold and Silver demo with proto-Poké designs and previously unseen, unreleased monsters!  The Game Boys break down all the news, share what it means for the franchise, and even touch on the state Pokémon GO in this surprise Pokémon episode.  Check it out!

Game Boys, Ep. 160: It’s Kirbo Time!

Published

on

Nintendo Switch Online brings with it a handful of treasures, from beloved NES titles to freshly re-released SNES classics. But what happens when Nintendo takes its roundest mascot and makes a cooperative, Free-to-Play, online boss brawler? This week the Game Boys aim to answer just that as they review Super Kirby Clash and all of the co-op titles from the most recent Nintendo Direct. Can Kirby float to the heights of games like Dauntless, or does the pink puff plummet? Find out!

Game Boys, Ep. 159: PAX is Back

Published

on

Labor Day weekend might represent a number of things to the greater Seattle area in general, but to the initiated it means one thing: PAX West. This episode is dedicated entirely to PAX as Ryan returns to give his report on all the best co-op and multiplayer from the conference. Also, there’s a weird amount of talk about Olive Garden and vampires. So if you’re into that kind of thing, take a listen!

Game Boys, Ep. 158: Revisiting Old Haunts

Published

on

We all have those games that we return to again, and again, and again. If you’ve listened to the Game Boys before, their most frequented titles come as no surprise. But what about when those games are inherently different by the time you return, or you as a gamer are in a much different place? That’s the case for this week’s episode as the Game Boys return to both Destiny 2 and Overwatch to review Destiny’s Solstice of Heroes summer extravaganza and the advent of a 2-2-2 role lock in Overwatch. Are these old favorites any better than they were or some things best left in the past? Find out!
